Key to website success Tip #2

Successful Website Organization- with Details

.

Dibbern Key #2 Getting the right information into your website:

Expand your basic list of products or services from our web tip 1 by writing down details under each point AND why you think people should buy this product or service from you. Organize your website and begin to determine how many web pages you will need based on what you develop here, including pages that add to your credibility as an honest business.

Not only describe your product, service or travel location, in detail, but for each point of description you can, also tell the web visitor why they will be happy with your product or service.Overall, what benefit do they get from buying your product or service or booking your travel location?

Here's the hard part: DO NOT use the words biggest, best, or greatest! Why not? 2a. They are meaninglessly vague claims to the consumer. 2b. Can you prove on a global or regional scale, that you are the biggest, best and greatest? If so, explain that and tell the full explanation instead. Major search engines usually blow away those words (best, biggest, etc) anyway. This is not an easy task.

Of course this is the best website about creating websites, right? You really won't believe that until we prove it!
From key 1, you have made a list of every product or service you sell - right? Now get a lot of paper or open a word processing program. Make a page for each product on your list with the product or service as the title. Do your website organization before you start designing the appearance of the site.
- On each page the next item you will list is a physical description of that product or service - actual physical dimensions, colors, buttons, knobs -everything else relevant to this one product or service. You may need to step back and take a fresh look at what you have or do.
- The third thing on each page answers the question what will this do for you (the customer). List everything you can.

Develope credibility about yourself and your business

You're ready for the clinchers.
Idea starters include: telling about individual experiences is solid
* how many happy customers for this specific product, service or travel location you've had over what period of years - EXAMPLE: We've sold thousands of these because_____. This year, we've provided our service to half the people in Littleville because____.

* and/or how you are actually different or better from all other sellers of similar things? BUT if you make a claim about your product or service or travel location, back it up with a because statement. (Whether you actually use the word "because" or not is immaterial, but you must have the "because" idea.

* how or what do you provide in more services, facilities or value for the money?

* why do you appeal to the customers you already have?
There are many reasons and approaches that could be targeted to your market, so take a look at our section on What is Marketing?

To help with credibility, be sure to have your complete physical address and a phone number where people can talk to you.
