Personal Home Care Help For Medical Assistance (Medicaid) Members

Charles County participates in a Maryland program called the Medicaid Personal Care Program.

What does it provide?

It provides assistance with activities of daily living such as meal prep and feeding, bathing and dressing, laundry, grocery shopping and other services. (Personal Care services are often provided by Residential Care Agencies, which are included in our directory listings for each county and principal cities.) The program is supervised by a registered nurse.

You must be enrolled in Medical Assistance, under a physician's care, frail or disabled, and in need of help with daily living activities. There is no age requirement if you qualify.

Who picks the Personal Care Provider? Who manages the program?

Services are provided by self-employed providers who are approved and monitored by a nurse case monitor from the health department.
