Long Term Care in your home is possible from Medicaid
The waiver program allows the services usually provided by Medicaid in a nursing home to be provided to an person in their own home
(or assisted living facility). This is a state program, but it is administered through the county Health Department.
What hind of services?
Services that covered by the waiver include personal care, respite care, medical adult daycare, home-delivered meals, environmental assessments, environmental adaptations, personal emergency response system, assistive devices, behavior consultation, nutritional consultation and case management.
You must meet the medical eligibility requirements as defined by Medicaid for Long Term Care benefits in a nursing home facility; be at least 50 years of age; and be a Maryland resident. There are income guidelines and asset guidelines.
